Scope of Work

  • Repair & upgrade of wet-pipe fire suppression system serving Switch Room, TCF Room, and UPS/Battery Room.

  • System classified as Ordinary Hazard (UFC 3-600-01, Table 9-3) with density 8 mm/min (0.20 gpm/ft²) over 230 m² (2,500 ft²) for a 1-hour duration.

  • Full hydraulic re-calculation, zoning, and pump/tank integration carried out.

  • Designed for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers approval (AFCEE).

Hydraulic Calculations

  • Remote Area: 2,500 ft², ~20 sprinklers (Quick Response, K-8.0)

  • End Sprinkler Flow: 26 gpm @ 10.6 psi

  • Sprinkler Flow (Total): ~592.7 gpm

  • Hose Allowance: 250 gpm

  • Total System Demand: 842.73 gpm (~112% of rated pump capacity – UFC permits up to 140%)

  • Residual Pressure at Supply: 61.95 psi

Fire Pump & Water Supply

  • Diesel Fire Pump: 750 gpm @ 65 psi (Peerless, UL/FM listed, USA)

  • Jockey Pump: 10 gpm @ 75 psi (Grundfos, Europe)

  • Fire Water Tank: 200 m³ GRP (10m × 5m × 4m, Hi-Tank, Korea)

  • Pump House: 5m × 5m, ventilated & air-conditioned to NFPA 20 requirements

System Materials & Equipment

  • Sprinklers: Viking VK202-D, Concealed Pendent, K-115 (K=8.0), 68°C

  • Valves & Fittings: Giacomini (Italy), Viking (USA), Nibco OS&Y with supervisory switch

  • Steel Piping: ASTM A53 Sch 40 Black Steel (Al Jazeera – Oman)

  • Underground Piping: Ductile Iron, AWWA C151/A21.51 (Saudi – SADIP)
